Design the morning overview according to the decisions
Start with questions: what must not be delayed today, where the document is missing, what complaint is waiting without a response and which decision is blocking the order. Only then select charts. Each exception needs a link to the record, an owner and a next step deadline. A red number without explanation forces the owner to call the team again.
The recommended introduction includes today's delivery dates, delayed obligations to clients, open claims and business decisions above the set limit. Show result numbers with period and update time. The data from yesterday's sync is not live, even though the page just refreshed.
The owner, manager and worker need a different perspective
The owner monitors results and serious deviations. The manager plans capacity and handles exceptions. The salesperson sees his own opportunities and offers, the assembler sees his order, contact, documents and handover. Permissions must also apply to search, export, and AI responses, not just to hide a menu item.
Odoo differentiates access rights and rules for records. Therefore, when designing, also test the user who is allowed to see one company or only assigned orders. Merely logging into the common system does not mean authorization to all its data.

More companies is not just a filter by brand
Independent companies need a clear assignment of orders, documents and authorizations. Odoo supports working with multiple companies, while some records can be shared according to the settings. Therefore, it cannot be assumed that everything will automatically be separated by the creation of another company.
For each type of data, decide whether it belongs to the company or is intentionally shared. Then test the creation of the record, its movement and the restricted user. AI search must respect the same rules. The right company match is as important as the right client match.
What can be added up and what needs adjustments
The number of open assemblies can be added if each job is recorded only once and the status has the same definition. With sales, the situation is more complicated. If company A supplies a product to company B for €1,000 and B sells it to an external client for €1,500, the simple sum of sales of €2,500 also includes intragroup trade. In this example, external sales are €1,500.
The management overview will therefore mark internal transactions and differentiate the sum of records from the view of external business. The calculation of group profit also needs consistent costs and other relevant adjustments. Dashboard itself does not replace accounting consolidation. The AI summary must be searchable
The sentence "three orders are likely to be delayed today" should lead to three specific records. The assistant should separate the confirmed fact from the estimate and indicate the time the data comes from. If the system does not see the update of the carrier, it must not infer a successful delivery from the silence.
The summary should name the reason, impact and proposed action. For example, the lack of graphic approval blocks production, the responsible salesperson has to contact the client within the specified time. A proposal must not be automatically changed to an external report without an authorized process. We discuss such a procedure in AI replies to company e-mails.
Pilot: one company and five useful indicators
Start with one company, one workflow and a small number of indicators with clear definitions. Check them against the original records and see if the manager can act on them. Only then add other companies and a common vision. Disparate processes will not be unified by themselves with a large dashboard.
Measure the benefit by the time required to prepare the report, the number of forgotten tasks and the speed of resolving exceptions. A good morning report reduces the need for status checks. It does not overwhelm the owner with details that can be safely handled by the team.
